Americas Minor South America & North America closed qualifier invites announced

The invited teams to North America and South America closed qualifiers ahead of the Americas Minor have been announced by the organizers.

North America's closed qualifier ahead of the Americas Minor, which will have six spots at the main event on offer, is set to run on June 12-14, featuring eight teams coming from a series of open qualifiers and eight directly invited sides.

Having dropped back to the Minor system following a 15th-16th placing at IEM Katowice, NRG are among the headliners in the list of invited teams alongside Cloud9, who were unable to keep their spot at the Major after losing three members of the lineup that had placed 9th-11th in Poland.

On the South American side of things, where two spots at the Americas Minor will be up for grabs from June 4-6, 16 teams will be taking part in the closed qualifier, as well, with half of them advancing through a quartet of open qualifiers and the remaining half invited.

Unsurprisingly, mainly Brazilian teams have been extended an invitation, with just one exception in Isurus. The list also includes DETONA, who will be unable to use Vinicius "⁠vsm⁠" Moreira due to his status as a Valve-banned player, among some of the region's biggest names such as INTZ and Sharks.

You have Liquid, MIBR, and NRG. Then you have Furia and Luminosity Gaming. After that, the drop off is pretty big.

You've got a couple teams like lazarus, ghost, complexity and cloud 9 who aren't as bad as the horde of tier 5 teams but they usually get thrashed by the teams you mentioned

I'm not saying that sharks are bad but I feel like valiance have improved quite a bit since rio and the way you say how avangar nearly lost to furia makes it sound like furia isnt a good team which they definitely are. What I think he is saying isn't that teams like furia and nrg are bad but rather there is more unproven and not widely known teams outside of their regions such as many of the Brazilians, singularity, and Atk.

9Z have very good players like Luken or nbl, and with 2 free holes and the fact that NikoM still does not have a team, I would not be surprised by his addition to the Argentine team. Nikom is going to play in Europe, 9z doesn't have "2 free holes", franssj and restik joined. You can't invite teams because they had a good form two months ago, you have to invite them because of the form they have right now. They're better than AK rn, they are in liga PRO and they did it great against top teams of brazil(w7m and inflames) while AK lost against S2N.. Sharks bootcamps in Europe then they come back to Brazil to play the important qualifiers.

Sharks use this to improve their cs, but they don't have the skills to qualify from Europe, the level there is too high.
