Final matches set for Americas RMR qualifiers

Just four spots remain between the North and South American qualifiers for the Americas RMR.

FaNg and the rest of the Party Astronauts failed to make it to the final day of play

Day two of the North and South American closed qualifiers for the Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR has drawn to a close, seeing four sides reach the RMR while eight more sides endured elimination.

Wildcard and Nouns were the victors in the North American qualifier, booking their tickets to Shanghai after claiming 3-0 records in the Swiss bracket.

In regards to eliminations, by far the most notable side to miss out on a shot of reaching the RMR was Party Astronauts, who were stamped out by a FLUFFY AIMERS lineup recently invigorated by the addition of Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado.

The other three sides to bow out on day two in North America's qualifier were Mythic, Akimbo, and Take Flyte, the latter of whom received a post-elimination disqualification for improper use of a substitute during their elimination match against Legacy.

Meanwhile, in the South American qualifier, Case and BESTIA emerged victorious with 3-0 records to claim the first two RMR spots from that qualifier.

The four squads who suffered the unenviable fate of elimination in South America's qualifier were inSanitY, Galorys, Sharks, and Solid.

With that, the 2-1 matches in North America are:

As only two spots in the RMR remain in each qualifier, the highest-seed winner of the 2-1 matches will advance directly to the Americas RMR, while the two lower-seed winners will compete in a fourth-place decider match for the final spot from their respective qualifier.

Yeah, I'm feeling that will be 2-1, because NRG will pick dust 2 or Anubis, free win tbh, all depends on NRG First ban, if they ban nuke, Legacy can pick Ancient and make Mirage or Inferno be the leftover map, but If NRG ban Ancient, that will be hard, because Legacy will should pick Mirage or Inferno

Yeah, feels like every major swiss stage we end up with a team that was supposed to get good matchups due to seeding, getting one of the hardest paths. Makes you question if Buchholz really works...

it's meant to reward teams for upset wins and punish teams for losses in which they were favored. It is working as intended, but yeah obviously very unfortunate that some of the best teams miss out

It acted very well in NA as NA has few upsets. But if many upsets happened, like SA, situation could be much more complicated.

It's because that supposed team shits the bed on one game that will entirely mess up their seeding for the entire tournament. One reply here was right, they shouldn't have lost to Boss but they did, nothing to blame for their path but themselves imo
