FURIA the only top 10 team to attend FISSURE Playground 1 as invites are announced

The Austin Major quarter-finalists will be the highest-ranked team in attendance at the season-opening event.

FISSURE has announced the list of 16 teams that have accepted invites for its $1,000,000 event in Belgrade, Serbia, which will run from July 15-20 and be the first notable LAN after the summer tournament break.

GamerLegion and 3DMAX were the only top 10-ranked teams, based on the VRS ranking on May 5 from which invites were sent out, to accept invitations to the tier-one event, with the list including several notable names below them including Astralis, Virtus.pro, paiN, and HEROIC.

FURIA are the only team in the current VRS and HLTV top 10 that accepted an invite, with the likes of Vitality, Falcons, Spirit, and FaZe all set to miss out on a significant share of VRS points before their appearances at IEM Cologne the following week.

The Brazilian team ended the season with a quarter-final finish at the Austin Major. It remains unclear if FURIA will hold on to Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis, who joined the team on a short-term loan from Liquid until the summer break.

FISSURE Playground 1 will utilize four GSL groups to advance eight teams to a single-elimination playoff bracket, with all matches being best-of-threes until the best-of-five grand final.

The complete list of teams set to attend the $1,000,000 LAN is as follows:

If CS events where ever to come to Canada, it would sell out just like Austin & or Dallas does. We have money to spend. We aren't poor like Serbians. That's my point. I'd say the same thing about Poland but Polish people would make them selves broke the entire year to attend 1 tournament. AND Poland has one of the biggest CS tournaments. Cleary polish people show up for CS.

"A significant portion of Canadians are struggling with housing affordability. Approximately 67% of Canadian households cannot comfortably afford housing costs above $1,749 per month, according to a survey cited by EveryRate. Additionally, nearly half (45%) of Canadians are very concerned about their ability to afford housing due to rising costs. " Good luck

yeah, and they will boost the winner into the top 10, and we can actually have a different set of invites instead of dead g2, astralis, gl, 3dmax that somehow are still that high i feel vrs ranking is too much stagnated because of the lack of these type of tournaments

Why does hltv show the predicted teams by default? If you click on the event right now it shows the teams in order of VRS, kinda weird to show teams on an event's page who aren't gonna be there... I'm sure it will be updated with the real teams, but my problem is the design of showing predicted teams instead of just no teams at all in an era where teams will always skip events, its just misleading.

You don't think it's misleading, especially for newer users? Everyone knows a lot of the teams shown on that page will skip the event anyways, so its kinda stupid for hltv to even show it at all and generate fake hype for a t2 event.

tournaments will have travel, media day etc which will take time away from practice. also unless they completely don't care about winning, they have to analyze the opponents and adapt their game to exploit possible openings or take care of their own eventual mismatches - less opportunity to work on specific stuff that teams could focus on during an actual practice. vetos might also mean they don't get to work as much on a specific map that could be a point of emphasis.

They literally skipped 3 S-tier LANs (Cluj, Rivals Copenhagen, Astana) on purpose. Now they are refusing to play in this event. I’d totally understand it if they went deep into tournaments like Aurora did, made playoffs and all. But they didn’t. Also they didn't even have to play early stages like Austin Stages 1–2 or EPL Stage 1 (maybe except for Kato Play-ins). So I really don’t get how they’re so exhausted when they often exit relatively early and choose to skip multiple events. Also, I’m not specifically blaming the players here for skipping events. Anyone with a functioning brain knows Liquid is a scum org and is deliberately pulling out of mostly non-ESL events.

Tournaments like these succeeding impacts the esports scene more than IEM cologne or majors succeeding. If this tournament generates enough profit to have them every 6 months or smth. More tier 1.5 ,2 ,3 teams will get a chance to play in tournaments like these where you have crowds in the playoffs, LAN in group stage , instead of online tournaments like CCT. Basically means counter strike can be worked like normal sports having most games with crowds

A tournament that is going to be played on half july takes the VRS from 5th may, its terrible…

Surprises to see both Spirit and Liquid skipped. Spirit farms tournament like these and they already have been skipping the tournis. Liquid needs events like these, their VRS is gonna go down hard soon. Why they acting like they tough shits Overall, actual good lineups ?!?

Does BB still sponsor the team ? I think the reported changes in the lineup might be playing it's part too.

3 chinese team participating is good for asian Cs. Bunch of teams looking to get a head start, try their new squads and get some games under their belts. Looking forward for GL, VP, Heroic, Astralis. Lets see if Furia, Pain and Lyn Vision can retain their form from the major or was it just a "fluke"

Tier 1.5 tournaments that include crowd playoffs like these succeeding is really important for the future of counter strike. It's way more important than people think.

Crazy that 11 teams declined. Navi and B8 I understand, but I'm surprised that teams that are partnered with fissure like Spirit and Mouz aren't going. What a golden opportunity for all these 16 teams to rise up the rankings, especially those currently outside the top 30 after the major ended. Is it weird to think that all 16 teams actually have a chance to win? All 16 teams have shown the capacity to beat one another in these last few months, and thus I truly believe that this tournament could be won by any of these 16 teams. Maybe not SAW, but we haven't seen this new roster yet, even if they heavily downgraded.

Perhaps, makes sense, but still a surprise that even teams like Liquid are willing to skip despite being out of top 16. Theres a good chance they dont get invites to EPL, or Starladder Budapest. Going even further, if they cant recover, they won't get an IEM Chengdu, and with their distinction as an EU team now, they probably miss the Major if they keep missing out on events.

do we know the deadline to decline the invite? might be they just skipped the tournament before those changes happened

The invite process started may 5th, teams get 48 hours to decline and then the next team in line gets invited. I'm assuming thats what made this process so long. They mightve declined before or after the major with how long this has lasted.

how are spirit and mouz "partnered" with fissure?

Fissure ran every Betboom event of the past 2 years. So Betboom Playlists and Betboom Dacha, stuff like that, all run by Fissure. Mouz either jad its main team or academy team at every event except Betboom Dubai 2023, and thats because they were playing in both Espoo and Blast World Finals. Meanwhile, Spirit or its academy team, has played literally every BetBoom event apart from the first BetBoom Playlist, and back in february 2023, probably when they didnt have a partnership with the organizer yet. That and Spirit were literally sponsored by BetBoom and Fissure were in charge of those BetBoom events. Mouz I'm not so sure why, but it was clear they were going to every Betboom event except Dubai when they played Blast World Final instead. All this to say they were affiliated with Fissure at the very least from 2023 to late 2024. Falcons also made many appearances, but not as many as these 2 teams, and were probably also affiliated in some way.
